Overview
Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered is both the polished version of Baldi's Basics Classic, the first Baldi's Basics game, and the demo version of Baldi's Basics Plus. As such, the game is actually a combination of three games in the series:
In addition to 2 available game modes (Story Mode and Endless Mode), there are 2 hidden styles and 3 hidden modes for the player to discover.
Summary
Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered is a free-to-play survival horror game set inside a school simply known as the Schoolhouse. In this place, the player's role is to retrieve the notebook and answer the impossible math questions while being hunted down by Baldi, the head teacher of the school. Throughout the chase, the player will encounter characters with different gimmicks, though they tend to obstruct the player most of the time. To ensure their survival, the player will need to be resourceful with the items and vigilant with the sound each character makes.
Gameplay
Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered introduces a diverse range of gameplay customization, which revolves around choosing the game's style and mode. Before playing the Story Mode of each style, the player can also ramp up (or reduce) the level of difficulty by accessing the Fun Settings.
Style
In Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, the player can choose the version of the Baldi's Basics game they want to play, which are known as "styles." In each style, they can pick between the Story Mode or the Endless Mode.
- Classic Style is essentially the remastered version of Baldi's Basics Classic.
- Party Style is the remastered version of Baldi's Basics Birthday Bash.
- Demo Style is the demo version of Baldi's Basics Plus, which offers the player the chance to meet 3 new characters and access a new item: the Faculty Nametag.
- NULL Style and Glitch Style are the hidden styles that can only be accessible after fulfilling certain requirements.
Special Modes
Below are the hidden modes that require the player to put in certain codes or fulfill certain requirements to unlock them.
- Authentic Mode: This mode changes the game's interface, controls, and graphics to emulate a game released in the 90s.
- Chaos Mode: All the characters duplicate with each notebook collected, and random events also happen more frequently.
- Debug Mode: The player can toggle on different settings, such as invincibility against Baldi and so on.
Fun Settings
Fun Settings are the additional settings the player can make to customize their gameplay before starting Story Mode in one of the first three styles.
- Mirrored: The Schoolhouse will be flipped horizontally. To unlock this, the player needs to finish the Story Mode of the Classic Style first.
- Lights Out: All the lights inside the Schoolhouse will be turned off. To unlock this, the player needs to finish the Story Mode of the Party Style first.
- Hard Mode: Some changes will be made to make the game more difficult. To unlock this, the player needs to finish the Story Mode of the Demo Style first.
- Free Run: Baldi won't appear in the game to chase after the player. Available from the start.
