Classrooms are the most common locations and are located around the Super Schoolhouse and Schoolhouse. The rooms in Baldi's Basics' universe are mostly decorated the same, with the teacher's desk, chalkboard, student desks and chairs, a few objects placed on the table, and most importantly, the notebooks that the player needs to collect and solve problems in.
Each classroom will have at least one door. These doors do not need a lock to open; players can freely enter and exit. On the 2nd and 3rd floors, some classrooms will have number bubbles or Baldi's Math Machine. In locations where these things appear, the player needs to answer a few additional questions for the main notebook to appear.

List of appearances
Classrooms in each mode of Baldi's Basics will have different objects and layouts. Let's explore the unique characteristics of each game below!
Main gameplay
General
- This mode includes 3 floors with a different number of classrooms: 4 rooms on the 1st floor, 7 rooms on the 2nd floor, and 9 rooms on the 3rd floor.
- Baldi can chase a player into a room, but they can escape by mimicking his movement path or answering math problems correctly. The Principal of the Thing surveys classrooms for suspicious activity, but he doesn't pose a threat unless breaking school rules.
- Chalkles spawn in any classroom, causing Baldi to block doors for a few seconds. Besides, Mrs. Pomp invites the player to a random classroom, showing the map until the player enters or the timer runs out.
- Some classrooms can have two doors leading to hallways or other locations. Small classrooms are rarely generated on floors 2 and 3, and they often lack items or furniture.
This mode has 7 rooms, but only 3 rooms (rooms 1, 3, and 6) have items with Quarter, Dirty Chalk Eraser, and Grappling Hook.
Challenges
There are three types of challenges with different numbers of classrooms and item layouts.
Challenge mode | Quantity of classrooms | Rooms with items |
Speedy Challenge | 25 | The Quarter: rooms 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 22, 23, and 25. |
Stealthy Challenge | 7 | The Dirty Chalk Eraser: 1, 2, 3, 6. |
Grapple Challenge | 7 | The Quarter: room 1. |
Other versions
- The Baldi's Basics Classic version includes classrooms named after different subjects. There are a total of 7 rooms here, and the items that appear are: Safety Scissors (in the Geology, English, Science classrooms) and Big OI' Boots (in the History classroom).
- The Birthday Bash and Classic Remastered versions have the same rooms as the Classic version.
- The Baldi's Basics Full Game Early Demo: There are a total of 8 classrooms, and only room 6 has the WD-NoSquee item.
Trivia
- Approximately eight to ten workstations are arranged in a row facing a single, bigger desk, which is likely to be the table and larger desks. In several rooms, they are placed differently; in one, they are even entirely upside down.
- There is just one class in Endless Mode - Medium that has two items.
- Passively, only the Principal of the Thing and Mrs. Pomp are allowed into classes.
- A small classroom is seldomly created.
